Mr Ohio – Agra Trip

Guest post by my lovely sister: Anchal

Our journey to Delhi (coming back from Agra) was adventurous. Highly frustrated with the long wait at the Agra Railway Station…OMG our train was over an hour late. Bearing the heat was the biggest fear. We managed to find a seat in an air conditioned waiting room. I doubt if the AC was switched on. Anyways, after a long wait, we went to the platform to discover a non Indian chap even more frustrated. Hehe and Annkur couldn’t have missed clicking him; and, why not? They make movies on Indian slums, we just got a picture.

Getting electric shocks :(

electric-shocks

Ok so after much delay I have started some physiotherapy sessions to fix that strained ankle (and now knee). And just into my second day @physiotherapy they give me electric shocks! supposedly to strengthen the muscles.

{I swear, I didn’t flirt with the nurses here, so this must really be a part of the treatment 😛 }

Dirt biking my way to office

March 2009

I head towards my office one morning just to see that things have changed dramatically overnight. Some water pipeline is being laid and the whole road is being dugged. The constant drilling along with a hot summer can really irritate a peace loving geek.

And a couple of days later I find myself dirt biking my way to office. The rubble laid next to the dugged up road with stones all over …

Though its not too difficult climbing them on my bike, but people on the streets and cycles made things a little tricky. Thankfully the pain of drilling machines all day just under my nose was over in some 10 days, I though it would go on for months… Here are a few shots and a video.

Nischay #April 2009

After a long break Nischay team came together last saturday (4th April) to organize a entertainment program @ Mother Teresa Home for the Aged at Santacruz W.

The event was a success and hopefully Nischay would organise a few more in the coming days. Complete updates on the Nischay Orkut Community 🙂 (Special thanks to Mr & Mrs Sheth for guiding us for this event i.e. @kunalsheth’s parents).

Also something I wanted to post since long: Nischay coverage in One India One People Magazine.

Happy April Fools Day #2009

Janta,

Happy April Fools Day

Appreciate all the support, encouragement and unexpressed words that you gave me in the last week. Just one person came close to guessing that its a joke (yes K.D).

So here it is – I have quit no job – Since I never had any. The whole spy thingee was a prank and completely a creation of my imagination. The immediate TG was really small but it seems to have spread wild over Twitter. Thanks to my crime partner @ankita_gaba

Here is the 2009 Annkur April Fool Prank in pictures:

When Bloggers Meet – Blog Camp Mumbai Jan 09

blcm-37

Pictures on Flickr

17th Jan was a special day. Not everyday you get to meet dozens of the same breed seated together 😛 . A little nervous initially, being my first outing to such an event. But once I reached there things turned out to be so cool. Yeah when bloggers meet

I need to mention here that Microsoft was more than just generous to give us a great venue (-cameras) at their Kalina base (thx @hardik). Add to that super fast WiFi and all the geeky infrastructure you can ask for. The event was sponsored by iBibo Blogs.

So what really happens in a Blog Camp? Bloggers from all over the city  meet up and share their vision, experiences and more. The camp is open for anyone to take a small session and speak about anything they wish to.  The entire day is a open discussion. So no formal presentations, no boring lectures and yeah not to forget loads of Coffee, Tea and Pizzas.

World without Friction?

While covering Taqneeq the fest for OG, I participated in a Contemporary Writing competition. We had to write a short 60 word reply for “Innovative usage of Lie Detector machine” and a long one on “How would the world be if there was no friction, show your creative angle … ?”

For the lie detector I suggested using it to testify people filling their Tax Returns, and for My opinion of World Without Friction here we go:

No friction? It’s hard to imaging the world as if they were slipping on a gigantic piece of Ice. Though Ice-Skating isn’t my hobby, things would have moved really fast without friction. This brings me to the utility aspect of  this scenario. If we could channelize and productively utilize this speed, we could create wonders. Traveling and logistics would have been a breeze (Wow, that would have meant no traffic in Mumbai!).

Even sports events would have been visualized with a completely different vision. Gravity would have ruled  the sports-In my opinion. Much like the games I play on my gravity sensing iPhone (hmm, seems like Steve Jobs had a dream of world without friction a few years back).

And on a lighter note, how about education? Wouldn’t it be great if all our notes slip into our brains without any friction :D. Even businessmen would love transacting their receivables without any friction.

All said, what would you do about the friction that stops you from thinking??
